About Is The 7th Largest Web Property With Third Consecutive Month Of Double Digit Growth
New York, NY (June 20, 2000) –About, Inc. (Nasdaq:BOUT), the Internet’s leading network of comprehensive vertical sites, today announced that it has moved up one spot and is now the 7th largest web property in the U.S., according to Media Metrix for the month of May 2000. Unique users increased 11.5% to 17.9 million from 16.1 million in April, marking About’s third consecutive month of double-digit growth. Additionally, total minutes used by all visitors grew 22.7%.

“Our continued strong growth in users is a testament to the quality of our products and services,” said Scott Kurnit, Chairman and CEO of About. “We are particularly proud to demonstrate aggressive growth in our user-base without a corresponding jump in marketing expense. We have reduced marketing expenses as a percentage of revenue consistently during the past three quarters, while at the same time nearly doubling our monthly unique users.”
